Contents of this book

A book for cancer patients and their families.

Nowadays, one out of every two people will get cancer. Cancer is the leading cause of death among Japanese people, with about 1 million people diagnosed with cancer each year and about 380,000 people*1 dying from the disease. In addition, the Basic Act on Cancer Control and Prevention sets "coexistence with cancer" as a goal in each field*2, and an increasing number of people are undergoing cancer treatment while working.

Families of cancer patients are also called "second patients," and they feel helpless because there is nothing they can do for their loved ones. When a family member or close friend is diagnosed with cancer, I wanted to convey the message, "It's not that you can't do anything, but there are things you can do! I published this book in order to convey this message to my family and close friends.
