A step forward for children who dream! Saginuma Swimming Club holds an essay writing class to foster dreams.

Saginuma Swimming Club, operated by S&F Corporation (Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture), held a "Composition Class for Realizing Dreams and Goals" for elementary school students on Sunday, April 7, 2024, with Koichi Sagano, a broadcaster and organizer of the Sakusaku Sakubun Class(R), as the instructor.

Among the children attending the swimming club, there were many who could not express their dreams and goals in words well or did not know the steps to realize them. Today, children's communication skills are deteriorating due to the widespread use of cell phones and video games, making it difficult for them to express their thoughts and opinions.

In order to realize their dreams and goals, it is important for them to be able to think for themselves and put their thoughts into words. For this reason, S&F held an essay writing class to support children's growth.

This year, 38 children, more than expected, participated in the writing class. The children who participated in the class gathered together because they wanted to achieve their goals, because they wanted to get closer to their own goals, and because they were not good at writing essays. In the classroom, children learned how to write compositions in a fun quiz format, and in the second half, they expanded on their own dreams and goals and wrote compositions on those themes.

Experiencing the joy of thinking about their own dreams

Participating children commented that "thinking about my dreams and goals became fun," "it made me want to work harder," and "I was happy to be able to think about my goals.

Parents in attendance also commented that they were able to think about their goals in detail and that they became motivated and clear about what they need to do.
