The Spirituality Research Center of Japan (President: Koichiro Ito) will hold a special lecture titled "Gaza, Israel, and Evangelicals" on June 26, 2024, inviting experts to discuss "the reality of Christianity, which is hardly known in Japan," and who are "some evangelicals" and why they support Israel, which has become an issue this time. We will hold a special lecture titled "Gaza-Israel and Evangelicals" on June 26, 2024.

It has already been six months since the Gaza-Israel war began, and although there is talk of a cease-fire agreement, the issue itself shows no sign of coming to an end, and many Japanese are probably feeling a sense of distress.

However, I sometimes hear people say, "There are Christians in Japan who unconditionally support Israel. They express their support for Israel because "it is the holy land of Christianity and the land of the Second Coming," and some of them are not interested in what is actually happening there.

In fact, this kind of support and advocacy is only found among a very small minority of Japanese Christians, a group known as evangelicals, and even within that group, only a handful more. However, while many Christians are heartbroken by this war, their voices stand out as if they represent Japanese Christianity.

We will be giving a lecture that will include these backgrounds as well, but we will also allow time for questions, so please join us.
