Izumisano Work License Center (operated by Izumisano Driving School Co., Ltd. designated by Osaka Prefectural Public Safety Commission, Representative Director: Takahiro Kuma) has added 12 new specific general educational training courses (7 courses including driver's license acquisition) this spring and has begun accepting applications.

■Outline of the Education and Training Benefits System

This system is an employment insurance benefit program designed to support workers' independent efforts to develop their abilities and to promote employment stability and reemployment.

When an insured person (current employee) or former insured person (former employee) who meets certain conditions completes the educational training designated by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare, Hello Work will pay a certain percentage (20% to 40%) of the educational training expenses paid to the educational training facility by the person himself/herself (with an upper limit).

There are approximately 15,000 different types of courses available nationwide for the purpose of acquiring qualifications and skills, and approximately 117,000 people took advantage of these courses last fiscal year(*).

Among them, courses designated by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare as educational training that contributes to prompt re-employment and early career development are eligible for educational training benefits under the specific general educational training program, and 40% of the course fee (with an upper limit) will be paid by Hello Work.

Izumisano Work License Center provides specific general educational training that enables students to take forklift driving skills training and medium-sized or semi- medium-sized license, cancellation of medium-sized 8-ton or semi- medium-sized 5-ton limited license, and large-sized special license at the same time. Currently, the Center is the only center in Osaka Prefecture that offers this specific general educational training, and the number of people seeking to advance their careers is increasing due to the fact that it can be taken even on weekends and the high benefit rate. In addition, we offer 22 types of specified general educational training, including courses in slinging skills, small mobile crane operation skills, etc.

Flow of Use

About one month prior to the desired course, the applicant must undergo pre-training career consulting at Hello Work, have a job card prepared, and have his or her eligibility for benefits confirmed. After that, you can apply for the specific general educational training at our center (located inside Izumisano driving school) (once you have paid the full amount), attend and complete the training, and apply for the payment at Hello Work within one month from the day after the completion of the training.
