Aluna's CUT aluminum picture frame wins iF Design Award 2026

Aluna Corporation (Headquarters: Kawaguchi-shi, Saitama, Japan; President: Takeshi Yukiyama) is pleased to announce that its aluminum picture frame "CUT" has won the iF Design Award 2026 (Product Design Category / Furniture and Home Decor Category), one of the most prestigious design awards in the world.

CUT" is a product developed by rethinking the possibilities of aluminum materials based on the concept of "enhancing works of art by cutting them down. Unlike ordinary picture frames, which aim for a "finished state" through decoration and surface treatment, "CUT" is made of raw material (unpainted aluminum) that has not been painted or anodized. CUT" is designed to accept minor scratches and texture changes that occur over time not as "deterioration" but as "memory," and the frame itself grows along with the artwork.

The cross-sectional shape of the frame is triangular, cutting inward. This structure creates a visual effect that naturally leads the eye to the artwork, and at the same time, it is a rational design that is both lightweight and rigid. The shape is characterized by its ability to bring a sense of tension and depth to the space, while at the same time reducing its assertiveness as a picture frame.
