What is CLTmat?

CLTmat is a temporary construction material that utilizes CLT (orthogonal laminated timber).

It can be used at various sites, such as temporary roads, yards, housing exteriors, and temporary flooring at event sites.

CLTmat can be used more flexibly, taking advantage of the advantages of wood, such as its light weight and reduced environmental impact. In particular, CLTmat can reduce carbon emissions generated from manufacturing to transportation by approximately 90% compared to steel paving boards, thus making a significant contribution to reducing environmental impact.

Lightweight: 1/4 the weight of steel paving plates, reducing the burden of transportation and installation.

Sturdy: Strong enough to withstand 200-ton cranes and heavy machinery,

On February 9, 2026, Itoi GHD, CLTmat Corporation, Hokkaido (Governor: Naomichi Suzuki),The Hokkaido Bank, Ltd. (Head Office: Sapporo, Hokkaido Research Organization(Head Office: Sapporo), BUTSURIN CO., LTD.(Head Office: Tokyo) have concluded an "Agreement on CLT Utilization Tie-up" to work together in cooperation and collaboration to promote the use of Hokkaido-made CLTs, which are wood products that fix carbon for a long time and are expected to expand their applications in the civil engineering and construction fields, with the aim of achieving a zero carbon Hokkaido and a sustainable society. The agreement is aimed at promoting the use of CLT, a wood product that fixes carbon for a long period of time.
