He has traversed the worlds of business and creativity, and his encounter with a Japanese theater company led him to write a play.

The play, "Foresight," will be performed at Prayers Studio (Tsukijicho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Tomohiko Watanabe) from January 23, 2026 (Friday).

Is it possible for a life that is supposed to be "the right thing" to quietly fall apart one day?

People do not change their lives according to events, but rather they make choices and shape their way of life according to "ideas" that they are unaware of.

This is a stage work by a thinker who has theorized the "structure of thought," depicting human choices and destiny from the perspective of structure and creation.

Robert Fritz himself will be on stage for the after-talk at the evening performance on the 24th. The performance will also include a workshop that will allow the audience to not only see the play, but also to appreciate the story from multiple perspectives.

His classic book, The Path of Least Resistance, has become an international bestseller, and his thinking has influenced numerous organizations and leaders, including Fortune 500 companies. He is also a filmmaker and composer whose films have won numerous awards at film festivals around the world.

His unique perspective, which crosses the boundaries between business and art, continues to inspire many people.

The Tokyo-based theater troupe Prayers Studio will present "Foresight," a film "POEM," which Robert filmed in Japan in 2022 and in which three actors from the troupe appeared as the main cast.

After the last day of shooting our film

After the last day of shooting our film POEM, the cast and I celebrated at a local bar. The film we had just made went on to win over 50 awards from film festivals around the world, and every actor would win best-acting awards for their performances in the film. The cast of POEM was from Prayers Studio, one of the most trailblazing theater groups in Japan. That evening at the bar, the idea of me writing a play for the theater group was born. It is much more literate, it is a wonderful form of expression, and with the quality of actors in Prayers Studio, the prospect of writing for this theater group was exciting and intriguing. Back in America, I wrote Foresight especially for Prayers Studio actors. On one level, it is the interaction of a loving family who are forced to confront the world as it is. On another, the darker side of politics. On still another, the phenomenon of human intuition, and how it might play out in life. The play is both serious and amusing, and, hopefully, very entertaining. I'm very grateful to the Prayers Studio for giving me the opportunity to write for them.

After the last shooting day of the film "POEM", the cast and I had a launch party at a local bar.

The film, which had just been completed at that time, would go on to win over 50 awards at film festivals around the world, with every actor in the film receiving an acting award. The cast of POEM was made up of actors from Prayers Studio, one of the most cutting-edge theater companies in Japan.

That night at the bar, the idea was born for me to write a play for this troupe. Writing a play is very different from writing a movie script. It is more literary and a very rich form of expression. And given the quality of the actors at Prayers Studio, writing for this company seemed like an exciting and fascinating challenge.

Upon my return to the US, I wrote "Foresight" for the Prayers Studio actors. This play has several dimensions and a story that unfolds on multiple levels. On one level, it is the story of a loving family forced to confront the real world. On another level, it is a story about relationships between people. At another level, it is a story about the dark side of politics. And it is also about the phenomenon of human intuition and how it manifests itself in our lives.

We hope that this play will be both serious and humorous, and above all, a lot of fun for the audience.

Robert Fritz on Prayers Studio's approach to acting

Prayers Studio is a group of people who have been researching and training for many years on how to give a high quality performance. To understand people, it is essential to understand their psychology, and for this reason we actively study and incorporate not only acting theory but also psychology and brain science.

It was through this process that Watanabe first came across Robert Fritz's "Thinking to Create," which led him to this work.

Robert Fritz's teachings have had a significant impact not only on the current production of "Foresight" but also on other creative activities and actor training.

We are currently accepting applications for a year-long study program in acting.

Robert's teaching begins by focusing on what you want to create. What kind of actor do you want to be? We would be very happy to meet with anyone who is highly motivated to learn "multidimensional and sensitive acting," which was highly praised by Mr. Robert.
