The Red Dot Design Award has been held since 1955, and is widely recognized as one of the world's top three design awards along with the iF Design Award (Germany) and the IDEA Award (USA). The award consists of three categories: Product Design, Brand & Communication Design, and Design Concept, and is judged by internationally recognized design experts from around the world.

A joint project between the Global Research Institute at Keio University and the Graduate School of System Design and Management at Keio University, to which Fujii belongs, designed the "yokun" olfactory training device that focuses on the decline of the sense of smell with aging.

The yokun is a device for olfactory training that aims to prevent the decline of the sense of smell through the use of scented soap bubbles while having fun.
