■Opening Keynote: Advancing a Trustworthy Computing Society
David Bramley, CEO of Mayhem (formerly ForAllSecure), is a pioneer in the field of software security automation. With over 20 years of experience in the cybersecurity industry, he has published numerous academic papers and received multiple prestigious awards. He has also been invited to speak at leading international conferences such as USENIX Security.
Mayhem, the security testing platform developed by his company, leverages a multi-layered approach that combines fuzzing, symbolic execution, and machine learning to automatically identify software vulnerabilities from an attacker’s perspective.
The origins of this technology can be traced back to the autonomous security system, also named Mayhem, which won the Cyber Grand Challenge (CGC) hosted by the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) at DEF CON 24 in 2016. CGC showcased fully autonomous systems capable of identifying vulnerabilities, generating exploits, and applying patches—entirely without human intervention, pushing the boundaries of next-generation cybersecurity.
Brumley’s research vision is to create systems that automatically detect exploitable bugs in software across the globe. In his keynote, he will discuss efforts to realize a trustworthy computing society based on this ambitious vision.
