arcobaleno (Miyamae-ku, Kawasaki City; Representative: Takahiro Totsuka), a hair salon that makes wigs for children with hair problems and gives them as gifts, will hold a "Charity Haircut + Hair Donation" at Tekuno Kawasaki (Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki City) on August 5, 2025 (Tuesday). The event will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.

We hope that everyone can gain a little understanding of children who are dealing with the anxiety of appearency, and warmly support them in their delicate troubles. Background of the "Hair Donation" Initiative

We started a hair donation activity and a project to produce children's wigs for children in the neighborhood in 2015, after having provided on-site beauty services to cancer patients with hair problems. For a long time, wig makers have been conducting CSR activities using their own wigs, while barbers and hairdressers have been good at disseminating information on trends, but have been neglectful of social contributions. However, the term "hair donation" is finally becoming recognized by the public and has become a permanent volunteer activity.

The purpose of this program is to promote social participation such as employment and improve the quality of life, etc. by reducing the economic and psychological burden on those who have hair loss or body defects due to treatment for injury or illness, congenital characteristics of the external surface of the body, or trauma caused by accidents, etc., when they purchase or rent a prosthetic device to compensate for changes in their appearance, In June 2025, the "Kawasaki City Appearance Care Subsidy Program" was implemented. In line with this, "Kawasaki City residents only, any age, limited to 3 persons per month", ready-made S/M/L size 100% human hair wigs (bob style) will be sold at salons for 30,000 yen (33,000 yen including tax), the cost of the subsidy. We will send you a wig in uncut condition after you have worn it several times, checked the tightness and the feeling of taking it off, and decided on the size that fits you best.

Supplying wigs is a volunteer activity that we do in addition to our work, so there are many challenges. However, we would like to continue wig production by leaning on them as much as possible.
