The captivating words of Tannisho
In chapter 3 of Tannisho, there is a famous phrase, "Good people can still achieve rebirth.
It means, "Since even a good person can be happy, an evil person can be even happier.
It is common knowledge that "bad people are unhappy and good people are happy." However, many people were fascinated by these words, which go beyond common knowledge.
For example, Japanese philosophers and great writers have left such words.
Even if all my books were burned down, I could bear it if only "Tannisho" remained.
(Kitaro Nishida, one of the three greatest philosophers in Japan)
If I had to choose only one book out of ten thousand volumes, I would choose "Tannisho".
(Kiyoshi Miki, one of the three greatest philosophers in Japan)
(*2) (Kiyoshi Miki, one of Japan's three greatest philosophers) "There is probably no other book in the world more centripetal than the Tannisho. (omission) The text is truly a masterpiece of Japanese writing. It is a national treasure.
(Writer Kurata Hyakuso)
Many other people were also fascinated by Tannisho Daigaku.
What on earth was it about Tannisho that attracted people?
How much influence did the existence of Tannisho have on the Japanese people?
Tannisho Daigaku" is an event that allows you to rediscover the appeal of Tannisho from various angles in the age of 2022.
In today's confusing society, the words of "Tannisho," which question the meaning of life, give us hope and courage. We hope that each and every one of us will come into contact with these words and that positive changes will be brought about in society as a whole.
Although it is sometimes said that the Buddhist world is in a slump, we hope that this event will help many people deepen their interest in Buddhism and "Tannisho" and revitalize Japanese culture as a whole.
