"Bringing young friendship across borders, from Japan." Badminton U16 International Tournament to be held in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, on June 28 and 29

The International Badminton U16 Promotion Council will hold the "International Badminton U16 Shonai 2025," a world tournament for the U16 generation, in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, on June 28 and 29, 2025, with the support of the Japan Badminton Association, with the aim of fostering friendship among the next generation across borders through sports. The event will be held in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, on June 28 and 29, 2025.

In order to warmly welcome 32 future star athletes from all over the world, we are currently conducting a crowdfunding campaign.

The tournament will be held in the same venue as the European and Asian Junior Athletes' Hospitality Project.

This is the only international competition in the U16 category where junior athletes from Europe, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas compete for gold medals. They are all exceptional athletes who are expected to compete for medals at the Brisbane Olympics (2032) seven years from now.

However, U16 athletes do not have enough sponsors or support from their home countries. This project is designed to warmly welcome these next generation of world-class athletes with the hospitality that only Japan can offer.

This year, we are also seeking "official supporters" through crowdfunding to expand the circle of support from all over Japan.

Your support will be used to provide hospitality to the international athletes.
