Outline of the film
A masterpiece of a coming-of-age love story, "Melody of a Small Love" was released in 1971 and became a blockbuster hit.
As an icon of first love films, it has been revived many times since then, and even now, half a century after its initial release, it is a miraculous film that has many fans.
Cinema Novecento will hold a screening event in 2022 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the release of "Melody of a Small Love".
In addition to special screenings of the film and a 35mm new print of "Graduation Trip: Little Adventurer," in which Mark Lester starred in Japan, fan events were held in Yokohama, Kyoto, and Shibuya, inviting Mark Lester and Tracy Hyde, the stars of "Melody of a Little Love," to attend. The events were filmed and recorded on camera.
In addition to the footage captured on camera at those events, we have finally completed a documentary film that follows Mark and Tracy on their location tours around London!
The film is a must-see for melody fans, capturing the smiles on the faces of the two, who still retain their original faces even after half a century, and the enthusiasm of the Japanese fans who still love "A Little Love Melody" to this day.
The film also offers a nostalgic glimpse of the lively Minami Kaikan, a famous mini-theater in Kyoto that no longer exists, as well as the Pure Stage, which was located on the lower floor of the museum and was run by the late director Toru Ichikawa.
