In July 2024, the feature film "Nacchan, All Up! which began production in July 2024 under the direction of Satoshi Hayashi, 29, has been selected as an official selection of the 3rd Yokohama International Film Festival. This is a film in which a deaf and a hearing person work together as a team toward the goal of filmmaking.

About 30 people, mainly actors, participated in the filming and stayed on Oki Island. The production of the film was made possible with the warm support and cooperation of the local community.

The Oki Islands, where the film was shot, are certified as a "UNESCO World Geopark," and their spectacular nature enhances the appeal of the film. The beauty of the islands will surely touch the hearts of those who see the film through the images.

The Deaf cast performs in sign language, and both Deaf and hearing dialogue is subtitled in Japanese. Both hearing and non-hearing audiences will be able to enjoy this film from their own perspectives.

Synopsis.

Saku Fujiwara, an art student in the film department who is not very good at socializing, decides to go to the Oki Islands in Shimane Prefecture to make an independent film with his classmates. There, he meets a deaf high school girl, Nacchan, and decides to have her appear in the film, and the challenge of making a film together with hearing people and deaf people begins. This coming-of-age human comedy depicts their bond and growth as they overcome various troubles.
