The "Bamboo and Agriculture School" has attracted a great deal of interest, and we were able to open the school in 2025 with full enrollment.

What is the "Bamboo and Agriculture School"?
It is a practical agricultural school that challenges cultivation without the use of pesticides by utilizing bamboo chips and bamboo compost on Shimokamari Island in the Seto Inland Sea.
In addition to learning cultivation techniques for citrus fruits, mainly lemons and mandarins, the school places importance on actually "eating and tasting" the fruits to get a sense of the characteristics of each variety.
Since the school opened in 2023, five students have graduated, three of whom have gone on to become citrus farmers.
The course is popular among beginners because it is easy to understand and fun to learn, based on his 30 years of experience as a school teacher.

This year, two new courses have been added to the program.
The former course, which taught general cultivation techniques from "planting" to "harvesting," has been renamed the "Specialty Course," while the "Introductory Course" allows students to learn the basics of cultivation in a shorter period of time, and the "Management Course" has been newly established to teach everything related to farm operations such as "direct sales at supermarkets," "online sales," and "tourism farm design. The "Management Course," which allows students to learn all aspects of farm management, including "direct sales at supermarkets," "online sales," and "tourism farm design.
These three courses enable the school to meet a wide range of needs of students.
The school's efforts are attracting attention as a means of revitalizing agriculture on depopulated islands and fostering the next generation of agricultural human resources.
Students learn by practice, from harvesting to selling.
