Motoi Gozaki (Hajime Satosaki, real name: Miyuki Hiraku), a digital artist living in Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, has achieved the remarkable feat of being featured in a double-page spread in the latest issue of the Paris-based art magazine "REPUBLIQUE DES ARTS.
Ms. Gozaki has a unique background, having dropped out of veterinary school, worked in photography and in general employment, and after giving birth, began self-taught painting using her son as a model. She also self-taught herself to explore the world of digital art, and in October 2023, just seven months after starting her activities, she won the Art Grand Prize in the Illustration Division at the "Art of Light Delivered to the Future in Ishikawa" exhibition. His talent quickly blossomed, and in October 2024, he successfully held his first overseas exhibition at "Salon art shopping paris 2024" at the Carrousel du Louvre, adjacent to the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Works exhibited in Paris in 2024. The skills of local framers also add color to the work.
And now, we are pleased to announce that our work will be published in "REPUBLIQUE DES ARTS," to be published in June 2025. The magazine is a prestigious art magazine that is distributed in Paris through bookstores, airports, museums, and other brick-and-mortar stores, and will be a rare opportunity for Japanese artists to showcase their talents to the French public.
An example of a work featured in the magazine. One of the characteristics of Gozaki's works is the black tone, which is his specialty in fantasy landscapes.
Leading experts such as Françoise Icard, President of ARTEC and recipient of the Order of Arts and Letters, and stage designer Romy Silvagni, who holds a master's degree in art history from the Ecole du Louvre, are scheduled to write critiques of Gozaki's work for this issue. It is hoped that the deep appeal of Gozaki's works will be widely communicated to the French art scene.
An example of a work to be published. The artist himself has a strong message, such as a break with the past.
Mr. Gozaki has already decided to participate in "ART EXPO NY 2026" in 2026, and his momentum continues to grow. He is also scheduled to hold his first solo exhibition in his hometown of Toyohashi in December 2025, a much-anticipated opportunity for local fans. We look forward to seeing more of Motoi Gozaki, a self-taught artist who has carved out a path for himself and is now active on the world stage.
