Ethical Life Advisor Certification Test Textbook 1
Background of the new certification test
According to the Consumer Affairs Agency's 2024 Third Consumer Awareness Survey, 27.4% of all respondents knew the name "ethical consumption" as a result of a survey of 5,000 people. Among them, 55.6% of the total respondents were aware of ethical consumption but were not engaged in ethical consumption for reasons that could be attributed to a lack of information, such as "I don't know which products and services lead to ethical consumption" and "I don't know which products are really ethical" (55.6%). The reason for this was "I don't know which products and services are connected to ethical consumption. The "There are no products or services that lead to ethical consumption around me" was also cited by 66.9% of respondents as a reason for not knowing about ethical consumption.
The results clearly show that "people want to work on ethical consumption, but they do not know what to do" and "awareness of ethical consumption is low to begin with. This social situation has led us to establish the "Ethical Life Advisor Certification Test".
While learning about our impact on the global environment, the test also provides an opportunity to learn how to live in harmony with the environment in one's daily life, such as "what actions can I take when taking a bath," "what cosmetics can I choose," "what can I do when cooking," etc.
The official textbook was created with the concept of "cute like a women's magazine" so that women can easily pick it up.
The president of the association is a former gal.
Nana Takahashi, the president of the association, is a female entrepreneur and an alpha blogger who has attracted a lot of attention. In the past, she has donated water wells to impoverished areas in India and constructed a nursery school in Sri Lanka. She has recently established the International Association of Ethical Life Advisors, believing that it is important to live in harmony with the global environment from now on. Takahashi says, "An ordinary woman like me, 'Cute! I thought there was a need for a course that would allow ordinary women like me to learn while having fun and understanding ethical issues properly," she says. As Takahashi herself was a "former gal," she aimed to create a textbook that gals, far from so-called "studying," could pick up and learn from.
Many blog readers see Takahashi as a "role model," and have high expectations for her future activities as a social entrepreneur and the expansion of her ethical life advisory business.
The International Association of Ethical Life Advisors' Wish
The reason why we created the Ethical Life Advisor business was because when we learned about ethical issues, we wondered what we could do in our daily lives. What is important is the choices we make in our daily lives, one by one. If more people learn and practice this systematically, it may have an impact on the direction that companies take. And I would like to create a movement where people can "enjoy and practice" all of this.
To this end, "even gals who don't usually study can have fun and say, 'Cute! and have fun while learning before they know it," we started this project. We have created a textbook. The text is colorful and full of cute pictures, more like a women's magazine than a reference book. The content is also designed so that students can learn about the environment by focusing on everyday life, rather than on hard topics such as "what is the global environment" or "hundreds of thousands of tons of ocean plastic waste...".
Instead of the conventional flow of "important → serious → hard → difficult," we aimed for a flow of "important → fun and cute → connected to myself → I can do it too! We aimed for a flow of "important -> fun and cute -> connected to myself -> I can do it too! Because this is something that is relevant to us, we hope that it will be an opportunity to change the tide.
Ethical Life Advisor Certification Textbook 2
Voices of the test takers
I had heard of "eco" and "SDGs. I wanted to do something for the earth, but I honestly didn't know what to do. I had done some research, but even though I knew how much plastic waste there was in the world, I honestly didn't know what to do about it, and my awareness was limited to sorting trash properly.
But when I read the textbook to take the Ethical Life Advisor Certification, it detailed what I could do when I brush my teeth in the morning, wash my face, or put on my makeup. Of course, many of the products are a bit pricey, so I can't choose all of them, but I think I'm making changes in my life to the extent I can. I also liked that the textbook was cute.
