Cinema Novecento, Japan's smallest film cinema operated by Cinema Novecento Corporation (located in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture), will hold a talk show, autograph session, and photo shooting event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of "The Devil's Sacrifice," the greatest splatter movie of all time, on December 4 and 5, 2024 (Wednesday and Thursday). The event will be held for two days only on December 4 (Wed.) and 5 (Thu.), 2024.
The Devil's Sacrifice" (original title: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), directed by Tobe Hooper, was released in 1974 (released in Japan in 1975) and quickly gained a cult following for its shocking content and eye-covering depiction of cruelty, despite its low budget.
The film was a driving force behind the splatter movie boom that began in the mid-1970s, and many sequels and remakes featuring the main character Leatherface have been produced since then.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the release of "The Devil's Sacrifice," Allen Danziger, who played Jerry, the heroine Sally's lover, and John Dugan, who played Grampa, the father of the Sawyer family, visited Japan!
The MC will be Kurando Mitsutake, director of "Gun Woman," "Maniac Driver," and "Lion Mask," who has a deep knowledge of horror films.
This is a great opportunity to hear directly from the filmmakers behind the scenes of the making of this film, which is no longer just a splatter movie but has become a cinema classic!
Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for horror film fans!
